Part of Team @familyrecords enjoying some gelato right by the office! #HTConeS
Last night, we had “Family Time” at Brooklyn Bowl! It was a hoot, even though poor Lauren threw out her hip. I knew everybody called her “Grandma” for a reason! Thanks to Brooklyn Bowl for the good times.
From left to right: Wesley and Lauren’s snazzy bowling shoes; Erin prepares herself for a strike; Family friend Kristen Winter celebrates a successful round.
It’s a little slow here in the music biz this week, due a little thing I like to call SXSW. Wes and Lauren have both abandoned NYC for Austin for the week, and Lauren had the pleasure of meeting DJ Skeet Skeet (above).
During the lull, you should check out the plethora of new content we released last week:
Casey Shea’s “It Is What It Is” ft.Rosi Golan
Rosi Golan’s “Say It Anyway” ft.Casey Shea
FamilyRecordsTV, Episode 1
Matt and Martin, Episode 3
Fun fact: on this day in 1981, Dan Rather made his debut as the lead anchorman of “The CBS Evening News.”
Better fun fact: on this day in 2012, Lauren Glucksman had ALREADY been lead anchorlady of “FamilyRecordsTV” for 2 days. So we all know who the winner is here. If you haven’t seen Episode 1 yet, you can watch it right here.
Erin and Lauren shoot the very fist episode of FamilyRecordsTV, coming to a computer near you very soon!
It’s important to us to be involved in new ways to encourage creativity across different fields. We are not only a music company just as you are not only a music fan. These will not be official Family Records projects, just projects we come across that we believe in.
You can see the Brooklyn Bridge behind us! Not a bad view while we work hard to bring you amazing music. Speaking of which, did you download today’s Extended Family mixtape yet? Tumblr featured it, CMJ lauded it, and you can grab it here.
In a huge boost to Lauren’s ego, Indie Music Filter has named Anothers Blood (the band responsible for the second release of the One Track Mind singles series) one of their “Favourite New Artists of 2011.” In fact, they’re first on the list, and based on the very song that Lauren chose for OTM, “Lost Communication.”
If you think this is as cool as we do, you can check out the song right here in the Family Records Store!
There’s a bear in the office!
